“Sometimes people like it jamm'in" This is what the nurse told my wife after asking us whether or not we wanted to turn up the volume of our unborn son's heartbeat on the monitor. It was a hilarious statement. My wife laughed so hard I thought she was going to have the baby right then.

It's amazing how she can be in such pain and still have a sense of humor. I can only imagine how she feels lying there in the bed having contractions five minutes apart. She's on the phone with her mom right now. I must have married Super Woman or something.

I'm not sure what inspired me to whip out my laptop in the delivery room and start typing. Weird huh? The nurse walked in and saw me pounding the keyboard with my fingers and gave me a look like, "Dude...are you crazy? Your wife's in labor"!

Lately my inspiration has come at weird times.

While my wife was on the phone I was thinking about how we struggled for seven years to have kids. We prayed and cried so many times. We practically begged God to bless us with children, but it never happened. Family members started telling us things like, "Maybe you all should go to the doctor and get checked out. There could be something wrong with one or both of you".

Well, we never went to the doctor and we promised each other that we wouldn't even entertain the thought of "something being wrong" with either one of us.

Our first son was born October 23, 2006. We named him Jahleel. It means God waited. It seems my God has a sense of humor as well. Much better than mine.

Our second son was born January 23, 2008. We named him Jahmel. It means God made him handsome. He was and is a beautiful child.

Now here we are doing it all over again in December of 2009. His name will be Jahkim. It means God has established him.

I told the Lord " I know I asked you to open up the windows of heaven and pour me out a blessing, but I'm running out of names.
