A poem that I later turned into a song about submitting to the Lord everything. Your whole being. Its something I still struggle with but I wrote this as a reminder for myself to give it all to Him.
For all the times I've tried to earn my recognition
The battle was won through my own submission
I breathe it in and know I live free
In my Creator who submitted for me
Now for all the times I claim victory
Help me see that I should walk humbly
For I did not earn this doing deeds
But it was through repentance that He met my needs
So as I walk through this day
Remembering that it happened this way
Instill in my mind that on my own I am lost
And the path you paved for me came with a cost
So help me live and know that it is Your will above mine
How great an honor it is to submit to the Divine
