Poetry is new for me so I have no idea if I've done this right. The Title and one line in this piece was borrowed from Radney Fosters song about the C-130 Angel Flight transporting soldiers killed on the battle field. All else, including the flaws was written by me.
The Angel Flight

With six wings,
It will come.
Two for the face, Two for the feet, and Two to fly,
The Angel Flight.

Like a whisper,
It lands on sacred ground.
As light dances all around,
and
You will hear Angels speak.

The Pilot will softly say,
"Remove your shoes.
I'll cover your feet with my wings.
For soon you'll stand on Holy Ground."

While Angels dance
"Fear Not...they sing.
We fly with the Angel Flight.
Between Heaven and Earth you won't be alone.
In Peace we've come to take you home".

The Pilot will softly say,
"Close your eyes.
I'll cover your face with my wings.
For the light will be exceedingly bright
When we touch down on Holy Ground."

Warm and safe you 'll be,
Covered from head to toe
With the softest of feathers from Angel Wings.

Once again
The Pilot will softly say,

"Angel Tower...
The Angel Flight Is Lifting Up
There's a Child of God on board tonight,
Going Home to Higher Ground
On Heaven's Angel Flight."
