I just wrote this and it is part of a short skit at our womens christmas party.
In a manger poor and lowly
Lay the Savior child
Human eye could not discern it
One who was so mild
Looking at the Baby laying
How could they have known
Until the angels spoke the word
And great light was shown
He did not appear so special
Easy to pass by
But beyond that straw and hay
Some would wonder why
The stars that night were shining bright
None had ever seen
Such display come from the heavens
Just what did it mean
In their hearts it rang out so loud
Like Christmas bells today
Leading them on to find the babe
Their respects to pay
Though all the world had turned aside
Each denied their need
Residing in that tiny, sweet life
Lay redemptions seed
They did not know the outcast Son
Came to show the way
Upon his shoulders he would bare that
Great and awesome Day
To those who came and traveled far
Bowed with humble heart
A gift so glorious exchanged
Salvation to impart
They lay their gifts in honor of
One they heard about
Suddenly it dawned on them to
Give a hearty shout
To the One they searched and found
In a lonely stable
He came to save them from their sin
He alone was able
Gifts and praises, they poured on Him
Eyes were opened wide
Glory to God in the highest
Lord, be magnified.
