The Knife of the Farmer’s Wife
Have you heard about the snake that the evolutionist claims used to have feet, but lost them through disuse, and now crawls on its belly? I never heard about that one until recently.
As a child I remember singing about three blind mice, who ran after the farmer’s wife. Perhaps after she put some delicacy in the kitchen, they sneaked in and nibbled away at it for lunch. Angrily she caught them and cut off their tails. Can you imagine them running home squealing without tails? Can you see the horror on their Mom’s face as they enter with drops of blood following their path of retreat? Can you see her tending to their wounds and comforting them? Imagine the confusion that fateful night!
According to the evolutionist, if the farmer’s wife kept cutting off the tails of each successive generation, they would have forgotten how to use tails. They say that tails would eventually disappear through disuse.
However, on an investigative visit to Mickey Mouse’s home, Mickey and his wife, Minnie are baby-sitting the present generation. But amazingly we hear one of his great great grand-descendants singing lullabies to some newborn mice at bedtime. In fact, you would see tails on every one! Science teaches that the DNA of mice will produce tails in each generation, even if the farmer’s wife keep cutting them off! Even if they forgot how to use tails.
The laws of genetics discovered by Gregor Mendel, the father of Genetics, a nineteenth century Austrian priest/monk, biologist and botanist is worth considering at this point. During the years 1853 to 1863 he cultivated pea plants in the gardens of his monastery, conducting hybridization experiments in garden peas, making a careful study of the principles of inheritance. Using test crosses to reveal the presence and proportion of recessive characters, he observed how traits were passed on.
Mendel’s laws reveal that characteristics which are recessive may skip one or more generations and reappear later. When they reappear they are just the same as they were before, and not a new characteristic which has been added. That law indicates that life never progressed from a simple cell by evolution to the complexity which we observe now, because nothing new is added.
Can you imagine the consternation of scientists and die-hard evolutionists once the news was out that evolution from a simple cell to a more complex structure could never be regarded as scientific?
Did teachers who strongly supported evolution hurry to the public library, surreptitiously remove the latest publication on the discovery, slip it under their overcoat, drop it into the garbage bin and slip quietly out of the reading room? Were they whispering to each other in some back room trying to explain away the latest discovery? If an intelligent student had come across a newspaper article informing the public of the latest finding, did they turn red in the face, stutter, and stumble their way out of their predicament?
As a child and also as a teenager, I too was searching for causes. What about the many instincts in man? What causes a mother to have a baby and not a full grown human being? Right now, as I consider that amazing fact, I think it would make a real comedy if someone were to write a movie about a pregnant woman with an extremely large abdomen, whom the doctors think may contain octoplets, but who when the time comes delivers a full grown adult. Ridiculous, you say, and I agree.
Somehow, the more I think of it, the more obvious it seems, that a supernatural, Super mind made decisions about everything and engineered a fetus that in small incremental stages would grow into a human being, like a tiny seed nurtured over several years matures to produce after its kind.
What causes a child to reach puberty, a girl to have breasts, and a young man to sprout a beard?
I wondered, “If I were lost in a barren far off desert and very thirsty, what would cause me to long for a drink of water? And how is it that wonderful liquid exists to satisfy my thirst? Did an intelligent mind place the craving in me and also place springs of water on earth?
King David wrote, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!” Therefore, I will draw close to God, and I will say, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
