Target audience: High School, College, University students or anyone battling with the “Existence of God” or “Evolution.” Positive statements are fine, but negative statements to improve the text are more than welcome. I improve by constructive criticism. Primarily, this is not a biography, although biographic illustrations are interwoven to flavor the text. Do not forget to point out spelling, punctuation errors, and any text whose style or manner of expression seems awkward.
Chapter 37

The “Wonderful” Solution to EVERY human problem
The proliferation of false prophets and ideologies, as well as the divisions that exist within societies and between nations, are signals that we are nearing the end. The apostle James warns, “If you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” The presence of strife is therefore an indicator that Satan is at work in families, churches, and among nations.

Besides the fact of nations rising against nations on the world stage, genocides, like the Jewish experience of the Holocaust, strike horror in the hearts of peace-loving people everywhere.

How can we forget the deliberate and systematic destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I?

In January and July 1966 the Ibos, who had moved to northern Nigeria and who had been forced to live in settlements outside the walls of Hausa were subject to genocidal massacres.

During the Guatemalan civil war, over 200,000 people died and more than a million people fled their homes as hundreds of villages were destroyed. The officially chartered Historical Clarification Commission concluded in 1999 that state actions constituted genocide.

Atrocities in East Pakistan (Bangladesh) are listed in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the top 5 genocides in the 20th century.

Since Burundi's independence in 1962, two events have been called genocides: the 1972 mass-killings of Hutu by the Tutsi army, and the 1993 killing of Tutsi by the Hutu population. The Rwandan conflict witnessed people of one tribe slaughtering innocent people of another tribe with machetes.

The massacre of entire villages in various parts of Africa by Muslim extremists, followed by the murderous retaliation of professing Christians, all demonstrate the devastating consequences of broken human relationships, and clearly reveal the presence of evil at war with the powers of good.

Isaiah, the prophet’s words are extremely relevant: “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked!”

The Divine Promise:
God’s promise, nevertheless, remains just as in apostolic times: “In the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams…and these signs shall follow those who believe; in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues...they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover...Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world...He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the Father!”

All His promises remain the same! The requirements, the results, and the hindrances, remain the same! In the closing hour of earth’s greatest drama we are summoned to become students of His Word, warriors in His army, well prepared for the final battle of the ages. Therefore we must divest ourselves of the ownership of all things, and become intercessors wherever He calls us. The Supernatural Spirit of God operates in the realm of the miraculous. It is from this battlefield that the enemy wants to keep us. It is to this area that God is calling back His people.

The ‘Wonderful’ Solution:
As we come to the end of this part of our journey through this book, let us carefully examine the word MIRACLE in a modern dictionary. Webster’s New World Dictionary gives us two alternative definitions.

Firstly, A MIRACLE is AN EVENT OR ACTION THAT APPARENTLY CONTRADICTS KNOWN SCIENTIFIC LAWS.

Secondly, A MIRACLE is A REMARKABLE THING. The word “miracle” is derived from an ancient Latin word ‘mirus’ meaning “WONDERFUL.”

When Samson’s parents received a vision, Manoah, Samson’s father, asked the messenger of God, “What is your name that when Your words come to pass we may honor You?”

Then, the messenger of the Lord asked, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is secret?”

The word ‘secret’ is a Hebrew word meaning WONDERFUL, which literally means ‘FULL OF WONDERS.’

In Isaiah’s prophecy of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ is identified: “His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!” The messenger, therefore, was none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, Who supervises and is directly involved in divinely inspired miracles, i.e. supernatural events that originate in Heaven.

When we travel through dark valleys, we need not give in to fear, for the Lord never leaves us or forsakes us. Like a gentle shepherd, He will gently lead us back to the flock. We know that He loves us, whenever He chastises us, and that we are His children.

Today, this wonderful person is willing to lead us in the paths of righteousness, out of poverty of spirit, soul and body, and is longing to pour out upon us the riches of His grace and to restore our souls.

David, the sweet psalmist of Israel once testified, “The  Lord is  my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell  in the house of the Lord forever.

This Wonderful Shepherd is waiting, willing and ready to prepare a spiritual feast for us in His presence, if only we take time to be with Him. Anointed with His Spirit, we need not depend on our ability to do anything. We can trust Him completely and respond to His loving-kindness by dwelling in His presence all the days of our lives.
