2 Thes 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” KJV
I have always known that God is our protector; and I thank Him for keeping me and my family safe. I have been at rest in His peace for many years knowing that He is more than able to do what He said He will do, and do a good job of it. I pray His protection over us, our homes and property, over our lives, our health, finances and over both the seen and unseen things.
As I visited with a friend yesterday I saw a deeper glimpse of God’s unfailing provision. My friend shared her experience of what is called the “Fifth disease”; she contracted it years ago. This disease is normally a childhood disease like the measles. She ran a fever of 103 for three weeks. Getting it as an adult I’m sure made it worse than if she had gotten it as a child, however, she’s never been the same physically since. One of her aunts also contracted it, and it resulted in her death.
My mind raced back to the time when my youngest daughter broke out in a rash, and I took her to the Dr. His diagnosis was, “she has the fifth disease”! She wasn’t deathly ill that I can recall, just a rash. All I could think of all day was, “WOW!” I thought of numerous things our family has faced, and realized even more just how God has kept us from worse outcomes.
I can’t help but say, “God you are so awesome!” How many other times have you guarded us from severity, devastations and much more? Even when we experienced what we thought was the worst of the worst, just how much more you protected our very sanity and lives! Thank you God!
It doesn’t matter what we may face as a child of The Living God; we can rest assured that He will bring us through this life with His hand upon us. So, when you think about what you’re going through couldn’t possibly be any worse… know this, yes it can; if it wasn’t for the hand of God upon your life.
Join me today and thank Him for everything.
