Prov. 21:38 “Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (KJV)

A ray of hope still faintly glimmers through the growing gloom of a world in turmoil. And though we are once again hearing the familiar chorus of promises rising from the political ranks, in our hearts we know that it will take more than new congressmen, senators, or even a new president to bring the kind of changes we need.

You see the very foundations of our society are crumbling before our eyes and it is those foundations that must be rebuilt and restored. Our hope lies in the home. And who is the “keeper” of the home? Well according to the bible it is “Momma!” You may not believe this Momma, but the weight of the world is indeed on your shoulders.

Who is it that travels willingly through the jaws of death to bring a precious child into our midst? Who is it that spends countless, sleepless hours rocking, nursing, changing, loving; rocking, nursing, changing, loving; rocking, nursing, changing, loving, for days and weeks and even months? Who is it that wipes the fevered brow and kisses away the pain of every "owie"? Who is it that reads the nursery rhymes and sings “Jesus loves me,” and listens to the sweet innocent prayers for Daddy and Momma and the sick cat? Who is it that trains and nurtures and sacrifices day in and day out from a heart of sincere love, who is it that teaches them right from wrong and truth from error? Who is it that rejoices when they rejoice, weeps when they weep, doctors their bruised limbs and comforts their broken hearts? Who is it that carefully and prayerfully molds this young child into an honest, God-fearing young man or woman who will indeed “rise and call her blessed?"

Her name is “Momma!”

That glimmering ray of hope still shines through the eyes of every Christian mother who chooses to be one of God’s blessed ”Keepers at Home.“
