I don’t know what tomorrow will bring or even if there will be another tomorrow but what I know is that today millions of African American, Blacks, Negroes are dying and killing in order to live the best life that they can imagine apart from God.
I am not a racist but I am concerned about this particular population of people that I am a part of. After having retired from the military and taught at an elementary school and being back in a predominantly Black environment I find myself, like so many others asking what is going on? What is the cause for so much hate and destruction amongst this one sect of the American culture?
This is not about a sociological study that was conducted to analyze the Black American and the Society in which he/she may find him/herself. It is not about blaming any man for the areas in which someone may have lived or was raised or even the schools that they attended. This isn’t even about economic status because a million dollar athlete will conduct him/herself in the same manner as a hoodlum on the corner. All of the superficial reasons have been exhausted to the point to where the killers themselves can quote them to you as they excuse their own behavior.
I have no allegories or examples to give. If you have told a lie and lived it out then you are partly to blame, if you have stolen and justified it you without making restitution to the person from which you have stolen from then you are partly to blame, if you have cheated on anything a test, tax, spouse, best friend, job then you are partly to blame, if you killed or know someone that killed another human being and did nothing about it then you are to be blamed.
A society is the sum of its parts and if every part is lying, cheating, stealing and killing then the entire society is corrupt and to be blamed. There is no heart harder then one that has been made that way its surroundings. To be raised in an environment where is limited trust, limited accountability, limited support and conditional love leaves one hopeless, hapless and with a care less attitude towards human life.
There aren’t any more government programs to address the issues that face the black population they have all been put in place and if when used they have proven to be very effective in addressing the superficial need. So we have more sophisticated drug dealers and better educated gang members living in nicer homes in better neighborhoods with the same ghetto hood mentality “bringin it and keepin it real” saying they don’t care what anyone things of how that living but only showing an inability to adapt to a new environment further showing their ignorance. Because in reality they really do care about how others see them especially those who they think of as being like them, they must be seen as “keeping it real” regardless of where they live.
So it really makes little difference as to the surroundings that someone may find him/herself whether it be in the hood or “living large” if they will lie, they will cheat and if they cheat they will steal and if they steal then they will kill as long as this continues on every level of a society it will always be depraved. But when it happens in the church then where is there left to go?
