Deception of self
admitting the lies
denial melts away
as I break free
from the chains that
have held me
Oh worldly deceit
be gone!
Allow me to be
forever honest
before you
Almighty God
take the film
from my eyes
May they see clearly
the truth that lies
deep within my soul
Never to be
bombarded again
with decorated phasades
of my own creation
Only you, Lord
can give me sight
deceit has no home
in my heart
