Scripture says there was “war in heaven.” But it couldn’t have been much
of a war, since Jehovah could have smashed Lucifer like a bug...
but maybe that would have made things worse.
God, being the epitome of love, no doubt didn’t want the
Universe to obey Him because of fear alone...
Yahweh desired an obedience of love.
Having been closest to the Most High, probably Lucifer claimed to have the
inside scoop on God’s corruption, and his “perfect” solution
- involving Lucifer’s exaltation.
Thus the stage was set for the dueling War of Universal Principles - the
fight between known good and Lucifer’s claimed “better good.”
Since it was a war for loyalty - the entire Universe would be the judges.
In practicality, God was on trial - for a large number of His own angels
believed Lucifer. And for their own reasons, Eve, and then Adam, listened to
the deceiver. And the entire Universe watched...
Satan’s ways brought about fear, shame, anger and death - leading to
the destruction of earth by a flood. All this was followed by the
Old Testament world of paganism and cruelty.
But like the clever deceiver he was, Lucifer blamed all these
results on the Eternal One, perhaps saying God was
too harsh or too judgmental.
Then Jesus came, not as the Mighty and Powerful, but as the Weak and
Vulnerable Human. His heaven favored life was seen to exhibit great kindness,
compassion and generosity.
Whatever Lucifer had claimed BEFORE Calvary, his actions contributing to the death
of the unselfish Creator unmasked Satan as an evil being and a
menace to the well-being of the Universe.
Revelation predicts that when all the evidence is collected, the Universe will say
“Great and marvelous are Your works...just and true are Your ways,
oh King of saints” Rev 15: 3 NKJV
The meek and humble Lamb slain from the foundation of the world will be given
the glory due His bravery and His actions. The Universe will exalt, for
TRUE GOODNESS will be seen to have conquered.
