THE HOLY SPIRIT WANTS TO FLOW THROUGH YOU
Will you be an unobstructed channel for the Holy Spirit to flow through you?
When you have a strong impression or 'unction' to speak to someone about Jesus or just saying 'yes' to a request. You do not really know why you did it; you just know that you know it was the right thing to do. Listen closely to the inner voice.
I will share two of the times when this took place in my life.
1. At one time I rented out a couple of bedrooms to young women. After they moved on with their lives, a young man came to see me and asked if I would rent him a room for a time. I was hesitant, since I was a widow and lived alone at that time. I had met this young man in groups of Christians so I did know who he was, but you never really know anyone until you live under the same roof with them and sometimes even then you do not really know them deep inside. After talking with him for a awhile, silently asking God if this was o.k. I agreed to rent him a room for a time, as long as he stuck to the rules of the house. After he had been with me for a few weeks, we were just sitting in the living room and talking, he shared with me that he had made the decision that if I had said "NO" to renting him a room, he was going to commit suicide that night. No one would have ever thought these thoughts were in this young man's mind. THANK GOD I LISTENED TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
2. It was a Saturday night. My body was overly tired and as I got into bed I said to the Lord: "Lord, unless you have something specific for me to do at church in the morning, I plan to sleep in because I am so tired. However, if you have something in particular you want done, then please wake me at 6:00 a.m. so I can get my shower, wash my hair and wake up rested". Well, at 6:00 a.m. I awoke, rested, ready to go. So, I got up, showered, washed and rolled my hair, had breakfast and went to church. Waiting to see what God wanted done.
To my surprise, the worship leader said "There is a lady here that is not a member of our Church, but she worships with us and the Holy Spirit wants her to sing. I just sat there waiting for this person to come forward when the worship leader said. Connie, come on up here, the Holy Spirit wants you to sing, "Jesus is Waiting". I was so shocked, but I did come to the platform, told the congregation, "This is completely unrehearsed" so, looking at the worship leader I asked that she cue me since I had not sung this particular song in some time.
After the cue, the anointing came and ministered to the people.
When the song was finished the Pastor stepped up and invited those that wanted Jesus to come into their hearts to come forward.
If my memory serves me correctly there were 6-7 young men who gave their hearts to Jesus that Sunday morning that I had planned to sleep in. What a blessing I would have missed had I not obeyed.
Please understand, I share these experiences not to elevate myself, but to encourage others to be sensitive and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit and not be afraid to act on your impressions. So you miss it a few times, we all have, the important issue is you obeyed. You just may be that worker someone prayed for God to send to that loved one they had been praying for.
Be sensitive and obedient to the promptings of THE HOLY SPIRIT.

HE uses us inspite of ourselves - we just have to be willing to say "yes"....and leave it all up to Him. Good piece, Connie!
