We left our epic tales in the hearts of men
Spilled over beans, coffee, and campfire flames
during a time of war.
These legends of truth and passion held
deep in our chests kept us alive,
Kept us strong -
shielded us from many a stray bullet
and doled out hope to fight another day.
You see….we needed to keep our stories safe for the next generation to hear. Those that lay dying on the battlefield retold their sagas to fellow soldiers (if time allowed), so they could carry them home to loved ones waiting to hear something - anything.
Our stories are still unfolding as the war continues to rage in purple hearts and commendations of bravery, medals of honor and the bleeding wounded and, of course, the fallen.
Here lie our heroes laid to rest, stories told but not forgotten, in precisely manicured fields of green, a pillow of white marble at their heads and American flags of recalled bravery at their feet.
Today we remember the fallen - our heroes.
You are home now.
Sleep well beloved sons.
Sleep well beloved daughters.
Thank you fellow Americans - thank you
For your sacrifice.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
