Oh the pain that I feel,
From my head to my heels.
The sorrow that love can bring,
Can put ones heart in a sling.
Broken it seems beyond repair,
Lay in pieces shattered there.
Love to her I freely gave,
My heart to her was a slave.
She owed me nothing in return,
for a word of kindness I did yearn.
As each morning came to dawn
Raised from sleep with a yawn.
I could hardly wait to see her face.
All fresh and sweet from a night of rest.
I would hold her lovingly to my breast.
Good Morning she said with a smile.
seemed to radiate light for a mile.
I brushed her long silky hair,
Sent her off to school without a care.
What happened to that child of mine ?
She grew up and changed with time !
She now can hurt with just a glance,
Firey temper, and that stance !!
Can give you shivers up your spine
Words spewn are tainted with anger
With a come back of "Well Fine"
I've done nothing is her claim
Someone else is to blame.!
Dreams she dreamed for herself,
She destroyed ,was her choice.
Young and reckless is this girl.
Can she be save from her peril ?
Oh where has she gone ?
That child so tender and sweet,
that once played happily at my feet
A stranger now stands in her place.
While I ponder , and feel defeat !!
