Lord, make us humble

“ Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)

I have a very high regard for humble people. And yet there are very few of them I know. They are easy to spot .

They have the achievements but they don’t get the glory. They glorify God .
They may not have material wealth but they give from willing hearts.
When they give , they give in secret, not letting everybody knows.
They speak less and listen more. And when they talk, their words stay in our hearts forever.

Jesus Christ exemplifies a humble servant. Yet He is equal to God. He is God.

The opposite is true of the proud.
You can hear their voices from afar. They monopolize every conversation, not giving anybody a chance to speak. They act like they know it all. You give your opinion, and they will tell you they know better. They will give you advice even if you don’t ask for it.

Pride goes before destruction. Satan used to be an angel, a beautiful one. But look what happens to those who submit to his lure. World is in chaos.

It takes humility to be a true follower of Christ. As long as we still rely on ourselves for every decision making, acknowledging our worth instead of God’s grace, we can’t embrace the Kingdom of God which is righteousness, peace and joy.

It’s easy to be proud when things are going well. It’s also easy to forget the Source of our blessings. But thank God for trials. They make us humble.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank You for Your example of humility who, being in the very nature of God, did not consider yourself in equality with Him, but made Yourself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness and became obedient to death-even death on a cross. Help us to serve and not think of being served. Help us not to boast of our success, riches, power and achievement, but may we only boast of the knowledge of You, the One and Only God for there is no one else like You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

To God alone be the glory, Amen!

Hi Sis Gloria, these are true words of wisdom. For we could accomplish so much if only we would heed just like it says in 2 Chron.7:14--If My people who are called by Ny name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive thier sin and heal their land. Just as in James 4:6--"God resists the proud, but gives more grace to the humble. Keep writing for JC. Love you, Sharon

Oh, Gloria, I say "AMEN" to all that Sharon wrote! This is pure wisdom - thank you! It takes great strength to be humble, doesn't it? And, it's when we relinquish our power to God that we see HIS POWER and GREATNESS work in our lives. What an inspiration you've given us - once again! Yes, keep writing for the Lord! With love always, SiS Peggy
