Sunday 5/17/09 Pastor Alex’s sermon: SUIT UP !!
Eph 6:1-18 II Cor 10:3-6,
1) There is a spiritual battle going on against us!
2) The battle we face is worth the fight, so FIGHT IT!!
There are evil spirits/demons who are after us, who want to make us prisoners of war/POW’s. We need to be able to go to battle and we need to be prepared. Satan is scheming to take us down because he hates Christians.
Matt 10:28 Don’t be afraid of people, be afraid of the one who can kill body and soul.
Jesus is like RAMBO. He came to rescue us and to set us free from being a POW in satan’s battle. We need to be prepared because if we are not then when life throws us a curve, it will be a disaster.
This battle is for a great cause so Take a Stand! The cause is worth fighting for. Take the battle SERIOUSLY!!
***Our Causes to Fight***
1) Freedom from sin: We are free form stinking thinking (fear, no hope)
2) Our children: We need to fight to keep the minds and souls of our children from satan and from them being a POW.
3) Our family members: We need to fight for them and be like Joshua (As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord) Don’t be a coward Christian!!
Jesus said for us to STAND!! Stand firm, hold our ground! The battle is not of flesh and blood but it is a spiritual battle. II Cor 10:3-6
But God gives us the weapons of warfare. The Armor of the Lord.!!
**Belt of Truth:
This holds up everything. It’s the truth=Reality as God sees it.
**Breastplate of Righteousness:
Righteousness is right thinking. Guard your heart with right thinking.
**Shod Feet-Preparation of Peace:
Where you go, your feet go. Bring the good news of peace.
**Shield of Faith:
This is what we use to block the fiery darts from satan.
**Helmet of Salvation:
This protects whatever brains we have left. We are rescued-be happy
II Cor 10:4-5 casting down imaginations, thoughts.
**Sword of the Spirit:
Read the Word, read scriptures. Don’t be too busy to pick up the Sword…The Word!! Use the Word to win battles!!
Eternity is the Cause!! We have to fight cause where we spend eternity is in the balance.
We must live the life of a “Prepared for Battle” Christian!!
We must put on the whole Armor of God so we can be victorious!!
Its up to us to say whether we are going to fight or run.
