Simplicity Eludes
The sky above, the sea below,
squirrels scurry, birds in flight,
here on earth, so little we know,
yet in nature everything is right.
The universe in perpetual motion,
species being what intended to be,
man’s tribulation bring commotion,
disturbing the balance creatures flee.
Intellectual being, describing man,
destroying out of want and desire,
our priorities focus around our tan,
building mansions to set them afire.
Constantly preaching peace and love,
controlling and enslaving each other,
sadly, dropping bombs from above,
slaughtering our sisters and brothers.
Simplicity of life eludes our very soul,
good verse evil collides in our minds,
as greed and power takes a mortal toll,
unable to grasp reality in passing time.
