I must touch my inner self first,
Accept God's unconditional love,
His redeeming grace,
His faithfulness, His mercy, His glory...
Learn to forgive myself,
Count my blessings,
Try to understand my thoughts and feelings,
Develop my talents to the fullest,
Show gratitude for my life,
Appreciate the tangible and intangible treasures I have,
Be contented and joyful,
Look into the eyes of those who care for me,
Know that I am not perfect,
Realize that education is endless,
Strive to be the best that I can be
And remain humble and childlike.
Only then can I touch my outer self,
Show compassion to anyone who hates me,
Learn to love even the insufferable,
Give generously as much as needed,
And manifest Christ-like character to the world.
For the shining light of God within me
Will glow like golden rays
Even if I lack the power of speech.
My exterior will sparkle
Displaying God's divinity...
For whatever is innermost
Will always reflect on the surface
Because no one can conceal
Anything that burns purely and radiantly.
