One night I dreamed that I stood by the water
Amazed at the many great ships on the sea
I dreamed I was leaving the land of my father
Where I was going he could not follow me
Then I dreamed that there was a great storm on the ocean
The lightning and the thunder terrified me
And yes there were screams, and yes there was crying
But then I heard a voice that comforted me
"Someday there will be peace on the waters,
Someday there will be calm on the sea
Someday you will return to your father
And all will be as it was meant to be"
Then I dreamed that I stood upon a high mountain
And sang with the wind that was singing in me
And I gazed at the sky and I drank from a fountain
Though I was alone I was happy and free
Then I dreamed that I saw a great eagle above me
But I was not afraid when he said, “it’s time to go”
He wrapped me in his wings and we flew to the valley
To do all we could for the children below
Someday there will be peace for the children
Someday, my daughter will stand by the sea
Someday, my son may return from the mountain
To stand in the valley and work beside me
Someday there will be peace on the waters
Someday there will be calm on the sea
Someday I’ll stand with my sons and my daughters
And all will be as it was meant to be
When all of the children are happy and free
All will be as it was meant to be
