Devotionals
I work in a hectic Certified Public Accounting firm where it is now officially income tax season. I have people calling me insisting that I can prepare their W2 Form before balancing the year end books while others are prepared to file their return. Later in the season, it will be my fault that someone owes the government money or that they cannot claim their dog as a dependent. I have been in this business for 19 years now. However, I just thought about the demands that I have to meet every day with my job and how much it stresses me out yet when God demands something of me, I have no problem pushing it to the side. Is the IRS more important than God? I dont think so but I surely have let myself get caught up in the tax season rush. Why do we as "Christians" allow everything to be more important than our relationship with God? We obey the tax laws and deadlines set down by the federal government yet why do we balk at doing those things for which we were called. Life is all about deadlines. Where will you be when God gives you the real "dead"line?
