THE SPECIFICS OF DESTINY
God is a God of details. The universe (His handiwork) is characterized by specific details. Geographers have discovered that the earth is tilted at an angle of 66.50 to the plane of the ecliptic when it revolves around the sun. This specific angle of revolution accounts for numerous benefits of nature such as the seasons, tidal waves etc. If the angle of revolution were just a unit above or below 66.50, the effects would be disastrous. The order we enjoy on planet earth is established on the exact details weaved into the fabric of creation.
The detailed nature of our Maker is also reflected in His individual plan for everyone of us. Ignoring these specifics of destiny only guarantees frustration. These specifics are signposts that are supposed to enable us to complete our journey of purpose. One of such signposts is the fact that “You are sent to a specific people.” Your gifts, skills, and potential were entrusted to you to meet the needs of a definite group of people. An evangelist is not sent to every sinner. A teacher is not sent to every student. The whole world is not your scope of assignment.
This principle was evident in the lives of the apostles Peter and Paul. Both had a similar calling of reaching the world with God’s Saving Grace. However, Paul was sent to the Gentiles while Peter was responsible for enlightening the Jews, (Galatians 2:7-8). Your gifts will naturally produce results when you are working with the people connected to you by destiny. You will locate your audience. As they listen to the song of your destiny, you will be applauded.
