Healthy Living
When pride and stubbornness grip hold of you, it is time to check yourself and reflect back as to who you are. Such situation is not only dangerous but it causes us much pain later in life. We cannot run away from our sins for it will find us out. It is better to get rid of them than to allow it to fester in our character.
Pride is deadly. It kills. It prevents us from fulfilling our destiny and it stops us from being our best. It gives us a false sense of success and causes us to exalt ourselves more than exalting God. It is also a false sense of power as others see our success.
Any success gathered by us other than the reliance and help from God is a false sense of success. We can be striving and still succeed. Yet it does not have God’s approval and the success will not last long. It will crumble. I’ve heard of testimonies from others who succeeded in life only to see themselves in poverty later. They lost everything overnight, even their family too.
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Prov 16:18. Grief and pain will surely follow if we think we are capable and sufficient of ourselves. Apart from God we are nothing. Our own wisdom and eloquence cannot get us anywhere apart from giving glory to God for our achievements. It is God who gives us wisdom and understanding, and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Prov 9:10. Therefore fear God and give Him all the glory and honour that we possessed.
Are you successful and satisfied now? Is your success drawing you away from God or are you giving Him all the glory? Think about your humble beginning, how you depended upon God for every of your need. Did God come through to you? Have you ever thought that your position that you gain now comes from God? Are you giving Him all the glory?
Stubbornness and pride go together. They destruct us from God’s purposes for our lives. They cause us to be selfish and hawk everything to ourselves. They are a deadly killer in our relationship with people. It stiffens us and gives us little lee way to bless others. We selfishly lead our lives without casting a glance to others who are in need. We live for ourselves and have no regards for God.
We are our own worse enemy. In order for us to live a life of blessing and honour for God, we must get ride of pride and stubbornness. We must not live for ourselves but God. It is God who blesses us and we must never forget that.
Are you living in pride and arrogance in your life now? Forsake them all and begin to look to God. He will deliver you of your stubborn self. He will wipe out every sin and ugliness in you and He will restore you. The question is, are you willing to surrender all your pride to Him? Look to Him and He will change and transform you. Call out to Him now and allow God to deal with your life before it is too late.
God is calling. He is waiting for you to come back to Him. Trust Him to do the impossible for you and surrender everything to Him. He is only too glad to welcome you into His fold if you will only call Him today to help meet your needs. Are you willing to allow God to deal with your life and situation now? Call upon Him now. His will and plans are waiting for you. Will you respond to God now?
