He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my foes, who were too strong for me. Psalm 18:16-17
What a startling and amazing feeling, the Lord reaches down takes hold of you and whisks you away, your enemies and foes standing in awe. If only it was that astounding each time the Lord rescued us from our uncertainties. Perhaps the Lord hasn’t rescued you in such an extreme manner but what about all those little unexplained times when you were face to face with your enemy and there was a calming in the storm, a moment of clarity, an unexplainable forgiveness. I think often times we are waiting for the big all the while discrediting the little. The Lord is constantly there to place a level head about us or on those of our enemies we just fail to notice him. When the waters start creeping overhead, don’t sink start paddling knee-by-knee, prayer-by-prayer, head bowed ask for the strength to overcome your adversities. You’ll be delighted in the little and elated in the big. Realizing that you are ever protected from your foes so long ad you request the presence of the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for being there in my times of trouble, for rescuing me from my enemies and foes. For showing me that you are there not only in those magnificent big times, but also in those extraordinary little times.
