Night
Again.
I burrow
in the downy comforter
that has become
my quiet hiding place.
How did I get here?
Why am I alone?
Where are you Lord?
Yesterday
Hand in hand with my beloved.
Life was rich and full and sweet.
The problems of each moment
met with anticipation, victory.
Death.
When did you come
change my world?
Move me from my lofty perch
where all was well;
propel me down craggy cliffs
tear at my very being.
Hands.
Reach out to me.
In the quiet of the night
my heart cries ‘
You pull me close.
We are silent together.
I sleep.
