Fanny Crosby (1820-1915) wrote the following song:

"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus:

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love."

George Beverly Shea wrote this about Fanny Crosby:
"She never resented the fact that she was blind.
In fact she once declared that if she had a choice, she would prefer to remain blind.
She knew that the first face she would see someday would be the face of her Savior."

On her tombstone is inscribed:
"Aunt Fanny....She hath done what she could"
She truly believed in and stood on God's Blessed Assurances.

David Livingstone (the great missionary from England who went to Africa) was asked "What kept you there all those years?"
He replied, "The words of a Gentleman that He would never leave me nor forsake me."

In these difficult economic times, I hope you believe that God's assurances are better than man's insurances! We have both....
but thank God for the surety of His Blessed Assurances!

Billy Graham wrote:
"To the early Apostles, the Cross and the Resurrection were their constant themes.
The Cross and The Resurrection were linked together.
Without the Resurrection, the Cross is meaningless....
and apart from the Resurrection, the Cross was a tragedy and a defeat.

If Christ's bones lie decayed in a grave then:
~there is no good news
~the darkness of the world is indeed black
~life has no meaning
~the New Testament becomes a myth
~Christianity is a fable
~and millions (living and dead) are victims of a gigantic hoax"

The Resurrection of Jesus assures us of the Presence of a Living Savior and Lord.
It assures us that His promises are all true including "I will come again" (John 14:1-6)

Please remember:
~"Believing Christ died and rose again is History" (The word 'history' is HIS story)
~"Believing Christ died for me is Salvation" (Romans 10: 9-13)

Little Jamie Scott was trying out for a part in her school play, but did not get the part.
However she told her Mom, "I've been chosen to clap and cheer!"

So in the 'play of life', we are also chosen by God to clap and cheer and let others know that He's Alive! We are to be Exhorters and Encouragers!!

Gloria Gaither wrote:
"The Resurrection is built into every sunrise, every seed that is sown, and every caterpiller that becomes a butterfly."

'If Easter Be Not True' (by Henry H. Barstow)

"If Easter be not true,
Then all the lilies low must lie;
The Flanders poppies fade and die;
The spring must lose her fairest bloom
For Christ were still within the tomb
If Easter be not true.

If Easter be not true,
The faith must mount on broken wing;
Then hope no more immortal spring;
Then love must lose her mighty urge;
Life prove a phantom, death a dirge
If Easter be not true.

If Easter be not true,
'Twere foolishness the cross to bear;
He died in vain Who suffered there;
What matter though we laugh or cry,
Be good or evil, live or die,
If Easter be not true?

If Easter be not true
But it is true, and Christ is risen!
And mortal spirit from its prison
Of sin and death with Him may rise!
Worth while the struggle, sure the prize,
Since Easter, aye, is true!"
