Nehemiah 2:
[17] Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
[18] Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
[19] But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? Will ye rebel against the king?
[20] Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.
This man had the zeal to accomplish something in his heart. But these two men were a setback to him. They discouraged him but he never looked at them neither listened them. He knew the God whom has directed him to work on the wall will help him finish the project.
In our lives we are surrounded by so many Tobias and Sanballats who time to time puts us back. But tonight I encourage you not listen what they tell you. People are full of opinions, yes, but some will not advice you to do the good thing. Many will tell you, “It’s hard to achieve this and that, oi you are doing this? It will never work please leave it and so on-------
My advice to you my dear is put up you plan as per God’s direction, never listen to any man, construct the wall, I mean the destroyed walls in your live, I know enemy has destroyed your wall, pray hard and you will finish it.
Keep in your mind that Tobias and Sanballats will be there always.Remember Nehemiah finished the wall despite the discouragements. So hold on your construction till your wall is over.
Amen
