In the beginning
God cracked a smile
It took a while
But that's his style
There was a time
when men walked in peace
they smiled then too
they smiled with ease
Things got hard
but men still smiled
even when the Earth was defiled
they smiled
Things got dark
Christ died on the cross
He smiled as He went
Just like His Father because
The Christians came
And they smiled too
they had a laugh
just like you
They suffered and died
They were crucified
eaten, tortured and despised
but still they smiled
Some took the mick
Some liked to pick
Some laughed at our suffering
But we smiled through thin and thick
And now... I'm talking of the future now
It's really something... wow
And the future is a smile... somehow
The future is a wow of a smile
You see, God likes a smile
When its all of what's good
When its for all that you look
Take a look one day, its in the book (Php 4:8)
And the smile
of Delilah
will be yours
when its the last that God ever took...
