In the book of the first chronicles, its all boring to many. Its talking of this begat that one and that one begat that one and so on but in hidden is a powerful verses which clears all boredom at once.

1 Chr 4-9-10
[9] And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, because I bare him with sorrow.
[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
This prayer is simple but powerful, it is complete. Although he was born in pain, he did not dwell there; he moved on and realized it was only God who could turn the pain to happiness. He started by asking God to bless him, he realized by getting the blessing it meant that he has obtained favor from God. Once you get the favors it means everything starting from health to material things. Enlarge my coast, - material blessings,
In short a simple prayer like this of Jabez touches God; it draws you near to Him. We sometimes pray a very long prayer without making any sense to God. From today can we change our way of praying and go direct to our father and ask Him to give us what we really want.
