When the storm is raging outside,
There is a safe haven to be found:
Stepping out of the rain…
Knowing we are safe and sound.
The wind it blows, and the thunder rolls,
Throughout the long, dark night.
The rhythm slows to a calming tone,
And we know it will soon be alright.
The storm, it comes with so much fury,
Causing chaos along its way.
But when it leaves, there’s such a calm,
And we welcome a brand new day.
But sometimes there’s a different storm
That rages inside of us:
When emotions flood the mind and soul,
It causes such a fuss.
There’s no safe harbor to escape…
These storms just linger on.
The darkness seem much darker now,
As we pray for a bright new dawn.
Believing it will not be long,
Before the change arise;
Seeming like an eternity…
The heart resound its cries.
The storms of life, they come and go,
For reasons we don’t always know.
The storms of life, they come and go,
In seasons that help us grow.
Enduring them in God’s presence,
Knowing all that was avowed.
His promises will all hold true…
Repeat these words out loud:
“Be still my heart! Be still my soul!
I know not what will unfold…
Be still my heart! Be still my soul!
I will wait on Him, and His glory: I will behold!”
