I know Christ hears my prayer
Though no answer I have found
My soul cries out for His peace
To be released and unbound….
I need a word from God today
Just something to hold onto
While strife and turmoil surrounds
Quiet desperation haunts, anew
How long, O Lord? I ask Him
But only silence is my answer
Satan gnaws at my emotions
Eating away at me like a cancer
With heavy heart I surrender
To the stillness, once again
While satan taunts and mocks
And says “you will never win!
My strongholds are too great
Your loved ones are in too deep
Prayers will never change them
No matter how much you weep”
The devil may conquer my emotions
For a season with his guile
I know my battle is not with flesh
But with evil spirits, so vile
So still I continue forward
I can never give up or give in
I know Christ hears my prayer…and
One day, He will call them out of sin.
