" Is there a gas station before the end of town?".
" Yes, Sammy's Express which is right at the edge of town" he said as he headed the steel cart back toward the store.
" Thanks" he said as he got in and started to drive north on Roberts Ave. He saw the gas station the sacker mentioned so he stopped to fill up the van and spent the last of his money.
As he filled the van, Kelly could smell the gasoline and knew that they had stopped at a gas station. She then began to smell something she had not smelled in years. As she heard him finish gassing the van and then going in to pay, she tried to remember that smell. Funnel Cakes, she remembered as she smiled under the masking tape. She remembered that every time her father took her to the county fair when she was a child, they always got a funnel cake. She wondered if there was a bakery next to this gas station. This memory kept a smile to her taped mouth as he got back in the white van and headed north toward the cabin.
