The Philistines be on Thee, Sams Sons

The Philistines be on thee, Samson
Your strength is cut off on the floor
As Delilah’s singing vamped you on
You traded God’s love for a whore

You judged all Israel of your day
Made the devil’s hordes check out
Till a harlot took your breath away
And her minions put your lights out

Yet God looks down the ages still
To find Sams Sons born of his kin
Blood borne ones of Calvary’s Hill
To make hell’s horde retreat again

But not straying from the narrow way
Twas too great a task for Adam’s kind
For just like the men of Samson’s day
True hearts as then are hard to find

Where are His kin, the promised seed?
God’s strength is needed now this day.
As again the world is filled with need
His kinsmen redeemed need but obey

But we want the finer things in life
And forget the best there ever was
Freely offered as our sacrifice
To Let a harlot give our head a buzz

Hi Mark. Thank you very much for the thoughtful critique. This is a great poem that truly made me think. We can learn a lot from Samson's mistake. Excellent message, words, and word pictures. The last line made me laugh too. Very good work! God bless.
