I was thinking today that when a caterpillar turns into a butterfly, there is no possible way that that butterfly can turn back into a caterpillar. There is no such thing as reverse metamorphasis and in the spiritual, there is no such thing as going back to being lost. Can a butterfly still crawl around like a caterpillar, pretending he is blind? Yes. So can a saved man crawl around like he is lost. However, in Gods eyes He is a NEW creation and the sooner he sees that the further he will go. If a butterfly crawls around trying to eat leaves forever it will die (a butterfly cant chew). If a saved man goes around reading, listening to and taking in what he used to take in before he was saved by grace, his spirit will also die and he will be of no use. A butterfly can fold his wings, a Christian can hide his testimony, and in both cases God weeps because he sees the creatures they can be, yet chose not to. Why hide a lamp under a bushel? Why hide beautiful wings from the world? A caterpillar with a new body and a person with a new ETERNAL life has no reason to hide! Quite the oppopsite! they both have a beautiful testimony to show the world! love,Jamie
