The day I remember was beautiful. The sun beamed down through the clouds and the trees swayed slowly in the warm but cool breeze. Flowers were in full bloom and the grass was green, not brown in spots. As I walked across the dirt road along side my grandfather to the mulberry bushes, I knew there had to be higher being because who else could render so much beauty. I knew this higher being was God, and I could feel his presence walking along side me as I took each step. I stopped as my grandfather did when we came upon the mulberry bushes. My grandfather knelt down and I done the same. He began showing me which ones to pick and the ones to leave alone. After thirty minutes passed and all the berries were picked, he took me by the hand and guided me to the other side of those bushes where one of them stood out from the rest. As we came upon this berry bush my grandfather asked with a slight smirk, “Where are the berries; they were just here”. Being as little as I was back then I didn’t quite understand that the berries were still there, but on another side of the bush. My grandfather was teaching me a lesson that day. The lesson taught me that just because I may feel alone I always have someone with me, guiding me, and it’s God.
