To be ďMeekĒ means to be submissive, complaint and modest in the will of God, in the Word of God and in doing the work that Lord has entrusted each one of us to do with an aim to produce the fruit of righteousness that endures in His Holy and Unshakeable Kingdom and to glorify His Holy and precious name through His Son, our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus.
Being meek is an essential fruit in the Godís vineyard. Meekness must be sought by us from the Lord; itís a mark of non-resistance in a believers life; itís essential in teaching and accepting the same; itís essential in hearing the Word of God; itís precious in Godís sight; it helps believers to transform from believership to the Discipleship of Christ Jesus.
Great examples of meekness lay before us from the Holy Bible which helps us to understand the importance of meekness in a Christianís life. It was the meekness that helped Moses to become anointed instrument in the hands of Lord Almighty and gave room to perform great miraculous signs, wonders and righteous acts of judgment through which God liberated His people of Israel from the slavery of Pharaoh, King of Egypt and helped Moses to receive the instructions from God on how to lead the people of Israel from wilderness to the Land of Promise; it was the meekness of David that was used by God to entrust him with the Kingship of Israel and received promise from the God of coming Messiah in his lineage; it was the meekness of Jeremiah the Prophet through which God pronounced His righteous judgment upon the people of Israel and powered Prophet Jeremiah to completely hand himself in the power of God and stand still amidst the rejection and life threatening situations; it was the meekness of Stephen that helped him to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pronounce truth in the Spirit of love to the Jewish people and ask God Almighty to forgive those who stoned him to death for being Christís ambassador of peace; it was the meekness that helped Paul to endure pain, sufferings, insults, rejection, hunger, thirst, imprisonment and death for being the Apostle of Christ Jesus; we have living example of Christ Jesus who himself practiced and preached the importance and pre-requirement of being meek in hearing, doing & sustaining in the will and Word of God and in receiving the promises of the Lord God Almighty.
Christ when speaks of meek being inheriting the earth, He prophetically states and promises His Church for the blessed time that we are going to enjoy in His Millennium Kingdom and in final saga the blessed Eternal life which Christ has promised to us for, ďThe residence of God will be among human beings. He will live among them, and we will be his people, and God himself will be with us. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death will not exist any more Ė or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.Ē
Beloved ones in Christ Jesus, remember being the Disciples of Christ Jesus we must bear all things, hope for all things, endure all things in lowliness with longsuffering and forbearing one another in love, forgiving, patience, and in doing good knowing that our Master is in heaven and He is no respecter of the persons; we have to remain meek in all the circumstances and situations of our life; we must be complaint and submissive in the will of God and in the ministry that He has entrusted unto us- for meekness allows God to honor, exalt and uplift His Holy name and reveals His power, glory and majesty in and through our lives and Church collectively in the corruptible and perishing world.
May God help each one of us to become meek and take upon our daily cross and walk after our Lord Jesus Christ and take his yoke and learn from him, because He is gentle and humble in heart, and we will find rest for our souls. For His yoke is easy to bear, and His load is not hard to carry.Ē
