Twinkling Little Star
Once upon a time so long ago,
there was a story we were told,
repeating, we all come to know,
characters and creatures so bold.
Told to children at their bedtime,
eyes turn heavy drifting to sleep,
while tales dance in their mind,
the lingering thoughts they keep.
Tales of princesses and bears,
frolicking in their make believe,
peaceful sleep without any cares,
joys of story tales they conceive.
Sugar plums to rat tail rats,
the images seen in the night,
bunnies to long winged bats,
mystical visions such a sight.
From Rag doll to periscopes,
excitement both near and far,
contentment brings the hope,
wishing upon a twinkling star.
