On one of my articles titled "why did he cheat on me" I talked of the issue o cheating. I have gone further now to study on the same deeper.Cheating is a sin which we ought to pray so that God protects us from.In the Lords prayer we pray that God should not lead us to temptation instead deliver us.Pastors are secretively falling in this sin,and come on Sundays to preach the gospel which actually prohibits it.Just read this stories and pray that God will deliver you and your partner from this sinful acts.
Caught…with the pants down
The urge to cheat is so strong that only the strongest men can resist when presented with the opportunity.
They will scale walls, plead on their knees, cajole and even threaten just for a taste of the forbidden fruit.
However, once caught, say by a spouse, you will be surprised at the lame and often ridiculous excuses they will give.
The person, who was so bold and eloquent a few moments ago, will cower behind silly excuses to extricate themselves.
In Nairobi’s one Estate recently, one man pleaded insanity when his wife caught in the act with the house girl. The woman of the house, who had travelled outside Nairobi, came back unannounced and found the man in the throes of lovemaking with the maid in the living room.
On realizing that he had been caught literally with his pants down, the man jumped off the sofa and started shouting incomprehensibly.
So convincing was his act that the woman, who initially was hopping mad, was duped into believing that indeed her husband had gone mad. To show the ‘seriousness’ of his insanity, he scattered tablecloths and pieces of paper all over the room as the housemaid got a chance to run to her bedroom.
The wife followed the maid to her room and, instead of reprimanding her, pleaded with her not to leave them since she understood the state of her husband. She went on to blame unknown people for bewitching her husband who, according to her, had always been very faithful. They took the man to hospital where he was admitted for two days before being discharged.
Man would later tell his buddies that the ‘insanity’ was a well-executed act, which had occurred to him on the spur of the moment. They all laughed and congratulated him on how he had managed to act so fast that the wife was convinced beyond reasonable doubt.
In a school in western Kenya some truant students — members of the school’s journalism club— tracked down their discipline master to a cheap lodging where they found him with a woman.
This they did with the help of another teacher who was the patron of the club. Caught red-handed, the poor teacher started ‘speaking in tongues’ to the bewilderment of the students.
A passer-by, who happened to be a French language teacher in another school in the area, disclosed that the teacher was actually speaking French in an attempt to fool his audience. It turned out that the teacher had taken advantage of the students’ ignorance of the foreign language to pass it off as ‘speaking in tongues’.
Stolen moments are sweet
When sanity was finally restored, the teacher begged for forgiveness from the aspiring journalists. They later agreed that they would not publish the ‘scoop’ and in turn, the teacher would deal with them favorably on matters of discipline. From that day, the teacher turned a blind eye to all relationships in the school that had been banned before. The school’s head teacher could not explain the disciplinarian’s sudden change of heart.
In Nairobi’s Estate, a pastor with an evangelical church blamed the devil for leading him astray when he was caught enjoying stolen moments with his deputy’s wife in a thicket.
As his angry cuckolded deputy hurled insults at him, the ‘man of God’ begged for forgiveness promising never to allow the devil to win him over again.
A professor at a public university who was caught in a compromising position with a student in his car defended himself saying he had done no wrong. He went on to claim that in developed countries, some companies keep married men and women away from such temptations by organizing for the men to visit prostitutes. Whether he was advocating for a prostitution allowance in his paycheck could not be ascertained.
The intellectual that he was, he cited various scientific ‘studies’ to prove that cheating is common among all species of the animal kingdom and not a preserve of men.
"Yes, even swans, which are thought to mate for life, also cheat on their mates!" he concluded with the smile of one who had made a profound statement.
When caught in such situations, other men will run away from home — perhaps out of embarrassment — only to come back after a couple of days fully loaded with goodies for their family, all the while praying that all is forgiven.
They will then sweet talk their wives and beg them for forgiveness swearing to remain faithful in the future. Yet these same men will be seen cooing at women who are not their wives the very next day. This was the case with a Nairobi-based businessman who disappeared from home after being caught caressing a neighbour’s wife. He only came back when he was informed that his wife was so worried about his whereabouts she was ready to forgive him. He brought her a bouquet of roses on Valentine’s Day.
Men seem to have borrowed a leaf from Shaggy’s popular hit, ‘It wasn’t me’. In it the singer repeats his famous refrain, which is also the title of the song, after he is caught red-handed and even after he has been photographed.
As one sociologist puts it, men think they are at the center of the universe. The world rotates around them. Some men think they are immune from being caught, because they are ‘masters of the universe’ and feel that they are immune from any consequences.
Blaming the women
"So when they are ‘caught’, they are so wrapped up in their world of fantasy that they lie to themselves and to everyone else, because telling the truth would shatter their own self-image and wreck their ‘superman’ image.
However, there are those who stand their ground and go on to turn the tables and accuse their women of being the cause of their misdemeanors. They will look for all kinds of ‘misdeeds’ by their wives. I remember an incident when a high school principal was caught in bed with a student. He became wild, and blamed his wife for not dressing sexily enough for him. He claimed that it was the ‘dull’ dressing that had completely turned him off. Those are men for you!
Some men will be arrogant about it and throw it right in the woman’s face. "Some men think it’s a game and believe women will fight for them. Others will come up either with a lame excuse, or a multitude of apologies, such as ‘it didn’t mean anything’ or ‘I’ll change’.
As one philosopher once put it, "It is the nature of ambition to make men liars and cheats, to hide the truth in their breasts, and show, like jugglers, another thing in their mouths, to cut all friendships and enmities to the measure of their own interest, and to make a good countenance without the help of good will."
Let us just pray for one another.
