In speaking with a Jewish/atheist/evolutionist who disavows my faith in God,,,at the end I challenged them to prove me wrong.....
The conversation went on these lines........
They would not believe in any God or Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.....and they thought me weak and foolish for believing such.
That my faith was a Biblical concept thought up by man as a crutch to lean on so that I didn't have to face the reality of death as the final act in life.
I said,,,,,,,,,I dare you to prove me wrong!
No problem! ..they said.
I then asked them if they believed there are truth and lies.
They said yes!
Then does 2+2 = 4?
They said yes.
I said... good we have established that is true.
Then I asked them that if I told everybody that they were born on Mars would that be a lie? They laughed and said of course.
So we have now established what a lie is.
I asked if they prefer living their life accepting truth, or lies to be their guide. They responded ..truth.
I asked why?
They said, because I think truths are factual and you can rely on them unlike religion which are lies that only deceive and cause people to become fools.
I said ok good......now, if I can prove that the truth is, that there is a God, and that Jesus did exist as the Son of God and the Savior of the world, will you believe it?
They said,,,,, that's ridiculous because you can't prove it!
Oh yes I can, I said.....but you have to be sincere about really wanting to know the truth and you told me truth is how you want to live your life right?
Yes they said.....now let's see your proof.
Excellent I said...........now pray after me....Father God in Heaven....
Wait a minute! they said,.,,,,,I am not going to pray anything because I told you I don't believe in God.
I said,,,,,can repeating a prayer hurt or harm you in any way?
No, so what's your point? ..they said
The point is, that in order to get to the absolute truth we need to go to the source......now if there is no God, you have lost nothing and proved me a fool,,,,,,,,,,,,but if there is you will get the truth from His very own mouth is that fair enough?
Sure, give it your best shot... they said.
Ok, I said..........pray this simple prayer after me......
"Father in Heaven,,,,,are you real? and is Jesus really your son who died for my sins?.....I really want to know for sure........in Jesus name, Amen"
It's almost as if they expected me to continue with some long, boring, drawn out prayer for their salvation,,,,,they looked at me puzzled.
That's it! ..they said.
That's it,.. I said,,,,,,,,,,,Your answer is on it's way, now if I am a fool and a liar nothing more will happen. I'll leave the proving of that prayer between God and you,,,,,,let me know what happens.
If your wondering what the results are with this person, or did I see a born again experience right then and there, the answer is no. But I will tell you that my Bible says that "God's word will not come back to Him void, but will go out and accomplish that for which it was sent."
So my faith says,,,,,,,,,,,"One more saint, one less atheist."
Next time you're in debate with someone like this,,,,,dare them to prove you wrong!
You see folks atheist/agnostics/Muslims and others are not or enemies,,,,,,,,,,they are just people who don't know the truth and it is our job to help them "become willing" to find the truth....
and Lord Jesus let us do it in love, kindness and without heated debate, using good God given common sense.
