Our Friends 4/17/08
God sends us friends in life
To show we're not all alike,
But we each have things to share
That alone we could not bear.
Our friends are God's way to show
Us how to laugh and how to grow,
And through them His Holy love
Comes shining from above.
We're not meant to go alone
Down the rocky road of stone,
But our dear friends share the load
When trouble comes on the road.
God's love is best seen in trials,
When friends gather round the while,
And when we're on slippery ground,
That's when best friends can be found.
When friends stand the test of time,
And would give us their last dime,
We know God sent them to be
His sacred offering.
When we see God in our friends,
We know it's He Who sends
Their prayers and actions our way
To help us in the day.
Our friends are like angels, too,
Who I believe God works through,
To leave the Holy mark
Of light within the dark.
When you know you can count,
On someone and not doubt,
That they'll be there for you
To help pull you through,
You've found a pot of gold,
To which you can lay hold.
In Godly friends we trust,
And to them so we must,
See them as God's good blessings,
The great gift that He brings,
Because each one that we meet
Is Jesus' hands and His feet.
