Encouragement
I would like to illustrate a great comparison between the events of Jonah and the events in our lives. Through this lesson you will learn more about the story of Jonah, then just that of running from God! All teaching will come from Jonah chapter 1 and 2.
I know that we were all once a Jonah before God at one time or another. There may come times in life that God has called us to act upon something; yet we run from his instructions,(1:3). This could just be something simple as: witnessing to someone at work, or praying for your lost friend,ect... This is your responsibility as a believer!! I have to say; that if you have received Christ in your life and confess him as Lord, then you are always called before God for such things and the "great commission" most of all,( Matthew 10:8)!
It is when we run from God that he sends troubles before us, (1:4). These troubles are not for his meanness; rather they are used to turn us back unto repentance before him! Many times we go through unnecessary problems; because we tend to "sleep" through all of his warnings,(1:5). The bad thing about this, is that; your not the only one who suffers, everyone around you tends to suffer as well,(1:10). God will even bring several people to you to warn you of the wrong doings; but we just ignore them or shall I say; "sleep" through them. See with God your soul is worth more than God's devises that he uses to turn our lives around,(1:17). People may have to get into a car wreck and be hooked up to machines before they come back to repentance. Others may have to have there loved ones taken from them and so on! I think you may know some other examples.
The #1 reason we tend to run from God's callings is because of our pride,(2:8). Sometimes we fill: "this is not for me", or "why don't he use somebody else, I have to many other things I want to do". "I'll be ok, he will just find somebody else to do the job", ect.... So we go through many painful problems because we run and "sleep" from our Christian duties! Then when we hit the bottom of the barrel, God sends forth his 'Spirit of remembrance' to fill our hearts and minds with his word,(2:7)! It is then when you cry out unto your God with your afflictions from the "belly of hell" on earth (2:2); that he hears your cry and gives you life again,(2:6). Then he causes the "belly of hell" in your life to spit you out,(2:10). Leading us back on the "straight" and "narrow way". Praise God our Lord is merciful!!!
Wake up, repent and call upon your God and stop running from him, Jonah's! Unless you want to continue having God send great storms your way out of his love! Even the people around you will look to you for the power of your God in times of trouble,(1:6). If there is such a great calling in all the lives of those who believe; then why is there not enough true men and women of God performing his acts in public ministry.? NOTE: All who are in Christ are under the employment of ministry! Acts of intercessory prayer, healing of all manners, casting out of demons, raising of the dead, manifestations of the gifts, fasting's, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and sheltering the poor! If you are in Christ and you do not, you will continue to go through major problems in life! If you do not perform some of these acts at all and you are not going through major problems in this life for the working of your repentance; then I'm sorry to say that; you do not have the Christ in your life! The bible is full scriptures that proves this...
All because of the pride of this life (1 John 2:16), we think that; just because we go to church, pray, have an account on 'My Church', fellowship with Christians, read a book, shop at 'Mardel's' and 'Life way', pay tithes and so on, that we have the Christ in us, when you have no public manifestation of his ministry with your walk with him with that which Jesus had commanded us to do above^. Think again! Sorry, that is religion not relationship. Seeking the praises of men rather then God, (John 12:43). What I have listed above were not if's and suggestions from Christ, they are commandments from God above! "If you love me, keep my commandments", (John 14:15). Therefore if God is your Father, you will love Jesus and you will keep his commandments,(John 8:42). This has got to stop with the body of Christ.
You can't sore with the eagles when your on the ground pecking with the chickens! God wants to use you in powerful ways, just as Jonah; but he can't because you limit him! Yes, I maybe talking to some of you here on this website. Turn back to God with your problems and not the people on here and everywhere else in your life. Cry out from the "belly of hell" unto your God (2:2)! Repent from your wickedness! Seek God and find him!
Show him you love him with all your heart by repenting from your wickedness and turning back to him! Get out of those false teaching, hypocritical, love you for your money, teach only what our itching ears want to hear, honoring God with our mouths, but our hearts are far from him, non-gift practicing, back-biting, men traditional, fable and genealogy teaching "synagogue of Satan" churches that your attending and repent and turn back to your first love! Lest he comes unto thee quickly and removes your candlestick and cast you out of your future place,(Revelation 2:5). God is warning all who hath an ear of this! He is looking for a unspotted passionate bride, saints! Come out from this world! Follow the true doctrine of God and not men! Speak only the "oracles of God". Again I say; Wake up, repent and stop running from your God! Or else you will find yourself also in the "belly of hell"....
((( I say all of this because I love and care about the souls of all!)))
