DR. SEUSS SHAKESPEAREAN THEATRE PRESENTS: GREEN EGGS & HAMLET
CLAUDIUS: How now dear Hamlet, forsooth and fie, alack,
Throw off thy dark weeds adorne’d in mourning dour black;
Pursue this sorrow not a jot, a scruple nor a dram,
Embrace me now thy sover-eign as well as Dad I Am;
For as king in crown, so kin in wed, I am your patern-al dad
And it grieveth me, so to see, such as thee, so perpetual-ly sad.
HAMLET: Vex me not with thy fallow shallow musings
I shall not love thee merely by thy nuptually choosings;
I shall not love thee for thy crown
I shall not love thee with a frown;
I shall not love thee as I’m sad
I shall not love thee I Am Dad;
I do not love thee a single dram
I do not love thee Dad I Am!
