What a glorious day! My day was awesome! Day is a summary of emotions, successes, and bonding with others. Day by day, change occurs in small wonderful ways and for Christians, it should mean moving closer to God’s plan and design.
The Bible teaches about ‘gifts’ of the Spirit. Love, Peace, Joy, Kindness, Humility, Faithfulness, Goodness, Patience, and Self Control are nice words on a page unless they connect to our heart and soul. To consistently transform into new beings we first accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, believe He is God’s Son, know the Holy Spirit dwells inside, and then the gifts of the Spirit become more than mere words as we go about our day. These gentle loving qualities aren’t on the application forms or covered in the training classes in the competitive world of sports, business, and careers. Other than in church or the context of close interpersonal relationships many put little value on them. Fixing them to the conscious mind so that every interaction is not a human reaction, but an opportunity to do as the Holy Spirit instructs will please and bring Glory to God.
Often, just after an opportunity passes—in which I again responded like a typical person—I’m stunned by my uncaring behavior. Thankful for my new awareness I pray, “Holy Spirit, please teach me more about love and faith. Help me to put you first.” My own success and recognition is small in contrast to God’s plans for the world. The possibilities to serve are far more exciting, important, and lasting than anything I can accomplish alone. Imagine a heaven in which we do our own thing, chasing around our own ideas and dreams. We humbly merge into His Glory, sufficient for all our needs. The very creativity and inspiration that gnaws at us originates in Him and flows through us.
Oh how I long to be like Jesus, who knew beyond hesitation or self-awareness that His Heavenly Father was pouring through his every thought, word, and action.
What a great day that will be, when we’ll all be like Jesus for eternity.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
