The Weaker Will – Hope For The Lost
Michael Blackston
I know in heart that darkness fall
Keeps watch o’er men in shadows still
Awaiting word from hell’s own walls
To rend the mind of weaker will
Yet when the torch is lit aflame
Of evil’s course and morbid fill
I tarry to the edge of shame
And dive into its tempting thrill
I know in heart that winds of care
And hands of love caressing feel
Like breaths anew from ones who dare
With whispers, tell of Him who heals
And while I wander onward in
Through miles of pain and bitter pill
I ne’er can shed the guilt of sin
That turns depression’s fatal wheel
The voices ever, ever call
My hardened soul rejects them still
I travel on in spite of all
To places cold with gothic chill
And while I tread along this road
Where shadows loom, intent to kill
Perhaps I’ll meet with God’s abode
Through prayers to save my weaker will
