Living Life Anew

The tombs were opened and many bodies of the buried saints were raised
[Mathew 27:52MLV]
Darkness drew across the land that day
Temple curtain torn from top down
Many women looking on from afar
What went through hearts that day?
This carpenter’s son from Galilee
Led to the cross for crime he didn’t do
This radical who taught victory come for all
Surrender was his claim to show the Way
God’s only begotten, nailed to a tree
Blood poured from his nail pierced body
Witness to prophets claim of old
Our cost for sin before our time
The Father’s love for us to have
Made complete, forever told
The work of His Son, paid not with gold
Praise to the Lord for those to see
Saints thought to have perished away
Back to life, others watched that day
Buried before, but for amazing grace
Back from sleep, people like you and me
Saints who proclaimed, their Savior did see?
We’re taught God’s Word, the bible is true
Raised from the grave that day, these people knew
Celebrated Him, living life anew
