This was the title of an e-mail I received right before the election. When I opened it up it was for a candidate saying how if he was elected that he would save America from all it problems. This really made me sad because in my opinion the candidate missed the boat.
I got a similar e-mail form another candidate after the banking bail out. Saying how congress was our savior for giving billions of dollars to these banks and how they had saved America.
Now after the election, the financial crises and the inauguration coming up so many people are predicting gloom and doom. While other are saying that the salvation of America is coming, I think I really need to get up on the roof tops and scream what can really save America.
Yes, you have all guessed it Jesus Christ. Matt 7:13-14
13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The politician was trying to get us to believe that he was the way of salvation, but just like the passage says, wide is the gate that leadeth to destruction and he was trying to lead us that way. Again, like the verse says, there is only one-way to salvation and it is through the narrow gate.
The problem is that we let Satan just keep sending his message out there. We as Christians need to start standing up and getting God’s message out there also. We need to start witnessing. When is the last time you witnessed to someone? In most churches, at least the pastor goes on visitation once a week, ask if you can help and go with him. After he picks himself off the floor, I am sure he would be more than happy to take you on visitation. It always starts with the first step. We Must!! We Must!! Tell the world that the only way of salvation is through our Lord Jesus Christ not politics or anything else.
