When I see people not knowing the Lord, shying away from even the mention of Him, I can't help but think how real He is in my life, to me.
And how much I would that they knew Him.
I can think about all the times everyday that He makes Himself known. How real it is knowing the Lord. How real He is to me. How He makes Himself known in so many ways.
My husband was on a trip and the people had remarked they'd heard he had gotten religion.
Well, actually, he received the Lord years ago, and got a wonderful walk every day of his life.
Even in the worst of times that we go through, still, knowing the Lord makes it number one.
It is better truly to be the door keeper in the house of the Lord than to spend one day away.
I had a moment the other day where I saw the Lord in my life, so clearly, providing my needs. Though there are so many times every day of knowing His presence being there.
But this was a little surprise moment where I knew He was watchful over everything.
I had that feeling about the situation when I realized I was out of sweaters. It is cold here and I wear them to work and everywhere I go, everyday.
There was a feeling about it, when I realize I am out of something. There is sometimes a feeling that comes when I know I am out, as if the Lord is giving it, an awareness that I am out of something.
I looked at my sweaters and realized I was all out.
They were all frayed at the neck and had undergone some sewing, some twice, and had begun to look frayed and a bit ugly.
I knew I was out of them as far as if I had to go somewhere nice, these would look pretty frayed.
If I went somewhere, I would go with one of these, it was what I had.
That is not a large matter, assuredly. Especially not when there are such deep needs with others in the world.
I live where people still go somewhere special with clothes that look pretty good or at least not frayed at the neck. It is not a necessity of life, that is for sure. I am thankful for the sweaters, it was just a mental note that when I could, I should pick up one for dress.
But this came and went pretty quick, but I knew I was seeing I was out of them, as far as any good one, and knew one day I would have to try and get one, if I wanted something nice to wear anywhere.
The next day my daughter in law handed me a bag full of sweaters.
She buys nice things, they were all nice.
She said if I wanted them or knew someone, and I told her I had needed some, so she said, then they are for you.
I don't think they fit her, but there they were, about five nice tops.
Here is another miracle in the whole thing. I cannot wear just any top.
When I go looking, it is hard to find something to fit, as they don't fit.
The whole bag of sweaters fit, and not only fit, looked terrific, we're my perfect size, and I liked them all.
Only one top didn't fit well, and it was not a sweater and a bit large, so I will look for someone that it fits and could use a top.
I sit here typing with my nice sweater on at work, knowing that when I came to the last sweater and was out, God supplied my need.
I have seen Him do this kind of thing on so many occasions.
He is so real in our lives. I love Him so. Not because I can do that on my own, but because He first loved me.
If you don't know Him yet, just talk to Him and ask Him questions, and like I read in our Sunday school class worksheet, and would say to the kids in Sunday school, -just talk to God, like you would if on the phone to someone you know. And know that He loves you.
A parent, a friend, a spouse. Just like a conversation with someone who cares about you.
And that is prayer. And after awhile, you will find, you'll begin to see Him in your life and hear Him because He loves you and cares about your life, and is always there.
