I have learned that there is no true forgiveness than that which is from above. Also I have learned; that a person who forgives more, is a person who has been forgiven of more from the Father in heaven. Therefore truly understating the meaning of forgiveness and possessing a greater love,(Luke 7:44-47). You can almost judge a person's love for you from the amount of true forgiveness they have towards you. Do they say they love you, yet given the chance remind you of what you did? Or do they say they love you and truly blot out your transgressions,(Isaiah 43:25)? You see Jesus in (Luke 7:47) comparing the amount of love for one another with the amount of forgiveness for one another. They go hand and hand! From experience I believe there is no greater test of love, than that which is shown in forgiveness. For it is in this that "love bears all things",(1 Corinthians 13:7).
Look at it this way. If Christ did not forgive us of our transgressions against him, we would surely die,(Romans 6:23). So if we don't forgive a fault against somebody, don't you know the relationship that we are in with that person will surely die in time? It has to be one of the great foundations to any relationship. The teaching of unforgiveness is so important that it can keep you out of heaven,(Matthew 6:15). Yes, that's right! Not only the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit; but unforgiveness as well! Why? Because no sin can enter heaven,(Hebrews 12:4). Not only unforgiveness being a sin; but the sins you commited will not be forgiven. On top of that, it will keep God from answering your prayers,(Matthew 5:23-24). So no matter how much you read his word, pray, go to church, feel joy inside of you or(false hope of feelings), and seek him; if you do not forgive, God will not forgive you nor except your prayer unto him! He said it himself. We have to learn to forgive, just as God forgives us. That means over and over 70 times 7,(Matthews 18:20-22). When we don't forgive men in our hearts the 'God way' we are stripped of power over the tormentors in our life's and punished until we pay back everything we owe,(Matthew 18:23-35). Easy to see why those who do not forgive are mostly miserable people. They are tormented in their hearts and mind.
There is so much freedom in life simply from the act of forgiveness. Do not just forgive men with your mouth; but forgive them in your heart. Knowing that God forgave you first of your wickedness and we are to do the same,(Matthew 18:27). People find this topic to harsh because; "you don't know what he said to me", "or you don't know what they have done to me". No I don't! But think about what you have done to Christ, when he even gave his life for you through a brutal beating. Yet he stood up on your behalf before the Father to reconcile your sins. How much more are we to forgive someone for the hurt they caused in our life's? If someone has hurt you and ask for your forgiveness it is very important to forgive that person no matter how many times they hurt you and repent to you, you must forgive them from your heart every time,(Luke 17:3-4). This is not to say to have them back, or to be a doormat when they are not true to their apology; but rather to demonstrate Christ love in you towards them. Showing them the forgiveness that Christ also will give them for their wrong doing. Thus leading them to repentance before God! What a true act of love forgiveness reveals! From experience I beg all who read this to take what God says about forgiveness very seriously. If you do, God will change your life more than you will ever know and nothing shall hold you down....
