This life on earth is temporary
A time to prepare for what will be.
We travel through and briefly pause
Before entering into eternity.
We all must travel this way
Though different paths we take.
We linger here for a short season
But none can choose to stay.
The journey takes us to our destination
A place prepared long ago.
Some travelers arrive there quickly
And for others the journey is slow.
At different times and in different ways
Our journey comes to an end.
And we will meet our blessed Lord
And unite with family and friends.
This side is our training ground
To make ready as we pass through.
A sweet resting place awaits us
Where all things will be new.
