His Love Holds Me

Been so blue
for just so long.
Been told I’m weak,
been told I’m strong.
All I know is
they’re all wrong.
His love holds me.
Been where I thought
I couldn’t go on,
Each day just brought
another storm.
And God, the nights
were all so long.
But His love held me.
Been where I cried
'til no tears would fall.
Felt like I’d given
my entire all,
Couldn’t endure
one more squall.
Yet His love held me.
Been to the edge
of the abyss.
Tempted by death,
and her sweet kiss.
Didn’t even think
I’d be missed,
But His love held me.
His love holds me
No mortal man,
On this solid rock
I’ll forever stand.
And be held by
His nail scarred hand.
Yes, His love holds me.
