Only Jesus can touch a heart
And fill it with hope
Only Jesus can pierce dark clouds
And help us to cope.
Only Jesus can make a way
When non exist that we can see
"Calling into existence those things that be not..."
Because his view of life is through eternity.
Only Jesus can show us the way
Through valleys of darkness and despair
And establish us upon the solid rock
That leads to eternity with God.
Only Jesus knows the depths of our despair
Our human condition when we fall short
Oh how it hurts to know we have failed Him
And yet because He loves us, we can try again.
Only Jesus’ precious blood
Can purge away the dross
And wash us clean from sin
Make us whole again.
Only God’s Word can
Renew our minds, spirits and hearts
And teach us to love others
Like He loves us.
Only Jesus is able to intercede for us
As "He sits on the right hand of God"
He knows the human condition because
"He too was tried, yet without sin".
Oh how I long to be more like Jesus
To always look through faith’s eyes
To see the outcome of victory
Over sin, temptation and trials
Please hold my hand Lord and see me through
As I strive to be more like you.
